Don Hicks - President/Head Coach

Don Hicks is the founder and Director of Coaching of Team Xtreme. A veteran coach with over 20 years of experience, Coach Hicks is a Level 1 Certified USATF Track and Field coach who has trained many USATF and TAAF elite athletes. He is an expert in his field and lectures at seminars for collegiate and high school coaches through the Texas Track and Field coaches Network. A former 800m/Miler, his passion for the track came when he was a high school athlete running for legendary coach, Spencer Harris. His work and dedication to the track earned him a spot on the Ranger Track and Field team, where coach Hicks focused on middle distance races. Achieving a personal best of 1:52 in the 800m, coach Hicks used his experiences in college to develop a systematic and stepwise approach to training and distance conditioning. He was able to improve his knowledge and dedication to the sport when he started working with the Fort Worth Wildcats as an assistant coach. It was during this period where he began to expand his horizons and begin cultivating a more effective training system designed for shorter distances and sprinters. Coach Hicks spent several years between the Wildcats and another Fort Worth club, the Jamerican Flyers, where he continued fine tuning his system for training not just track athletes, but also address the training needs for athletes in other sports.

After moving to Northeast Fort Worth, coach Hicks began an allegiance with Keller Central High track coach to start a summer track and field program in the Keller area. This new team(originally named Charger TC) was the beginning and basis of the current teams, Team Xtreme and Fort Worth Select. For the last 7 years, Coach Hicks has been growing the team and his reputation as an elite track team with emphasis on dedicated work on and off the track.

Coach Don Hicks has produced one athlete that represented the USA at the World Junior Championships, 4 National Champions, 4 High School Indoor All-Americans, and 5 Texas UIL State Champions! Coach Hicks 4x400 team broke indoor record at the Carl Lewis Indoor meet at the University of Houston with a 3:22 clocking . His summer teams have posted such outdoor marks as 40.5 for the 4x100 relay and 3:11 for the 4 x400 relay during the USATF Nationals Age Group Championships.

As a dedicated and experienced coach, he works with all ages and levels of athletes to help them mold and achieve their goals. He is constantly studying, networking with the top Collegiate Coaches and trainers, which allows him to continue to modify and tune his proven system.

Jennifer Franklin - Head Youth Coach/Sprints

Coach Jennifer took an interest in running early in high school, where she attended Fossil Ridge High School, here in Keller ISD. During her school years, she set school records in the 200m and 400m individual events; and also the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Jennifer's accomplishments earned her a full, four year athletic scholarship to Grambling State University. She achieved many personal bests in individual events (200m and 400m) and split-times in relays (1600m relay).

During her collegiate years, Coach Jennifer acquired an academic scholarship conjunction with her athletic scholarship. She was also a scholar student and graduated with Cum Laude honors with a BS in Recreation Therapy.

Coach Jennifer has five plus years in the field of physical therapy, with emphasis in instructing water aerobics/aquatic therapy to arthritic patients. She maintains certifications in CPR/AED. While working full time and coaching, Jennifer is also working towards a Master's degree in Kinesiology with emphasis on Physical Activity, Chronic Disease, and Nutrition. Also, she is also receiving licensure in natural healing, certification in personal training, and higher level coaching certifications.

David Cooper - Sprints

David Cooper is a Trainer/Coach providing his guidance and skills in the Arlington area. He received his college degree in Criminal Justice from Texas Southern University, and his Masters in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University.

David started his track obsession at the age of 10 yrs old running for the Fort Worth Wildcats. At the High School level he performed and learned under the teaching of Coach Lee Williams at OD Wyatt High School. With numerous accolades he continued to run on the next level for Sam Houston State University and Texas Southern University.

David has volunteered for more than 10 years to youth sports, varying from Football (8yrs), Track (5yrs), Soccer (2yrs), and Basketball (2yrs). His forth giving attitude has provided personal training and coaching, in the area of sprinting, to youth athletes that resulted in qualifying for state and national competition. David has often solicited the knowledge of Coach Don since 2009 and decided to join the Team Xtreme in 2012. That same year he assisted with the coaching of the midget girls to winning the TAAF State 4x400 competition.

As the lead coach of the Arlington extension of Team Xtreme, Coach Cooper will continue to provide fundamental focus on technique and achievement that has been a proven staple of the Team Xtreme program.

Phil Boatright - Distance Coach

Coach Boatright has been coaching distance runners for TeamXtreme since 2011. He has also coached Cross Country runners with Peak Performance Track Club in Monroe, LA, and is currently coaching distance runners for Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, TX. He has coached several youth athletes to qualify for and compete in national level meets in both track and cross country.

Coach Boatright has always had a passion for the sport of distance running and has been around national level distance runners and coaches since early childhood. His older brother was a three time All American in track and cross country for Oklahoma State University.

A USATF Level 1 Certified Track & Field Coach, Coach Boatright is currently pursuing a Level 2 certification with a specialization in endurance events. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology and works as an engineer in the telecommunications industry. Coach Boatright applies his engineering approach to the scientific aspects of endurance and energy system training and his personal experience with distance runners and the wealth of knowledge he has gained from coach Hicks and others to the strategic and tactical aspects of distance competition.

Todd McQuietor - Team Manager/Throws

Coach Todd handles all of the team's administrative operations and office functions. He has been with the team since 2006 in this role and in 2010 he started coaching the shot put and discus field events. He is a member of USATF and the USATF Officials organizations.

Coach Todd was a high school regional finalist in the discus for two seasons and placed as high as 3rd in district in the shot put events. He currently manages multimedia development at Texas Instruments in their wireless division. His project management skills are a great asset to the operations of the front office and the team .
